Gotan-e Service

At today’s Gotan-e and Family Service, our guest minister was Rev. Satoshi Tomioka who currently is serving as minister of Puna, Pahala and Naalehu Hongwanji Missions on Hawaii island. Gotan-e is to celebrate the birth of Shinran Shonin the founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. In his message, Rev. Tomioka said that we must remember Amida Buddha’s compassion and that he embraces each of us just as we are.

Gotan-E & Mother's Day Service

We had a special Gotan-E and Mother's Day Service today. Gotan-E celebrates the birthday of Shinran Shonin, the founder of Jodo Shinsu Buddhism.

Rev. Umitani gave today's Dharma Talk and explained the GAS we all have and the suffering that results. GAS in this case is Greed, Anger, and Stupidity, and its something we all experience as humans.

Since today is also Mother's Day, the mothers received a gift at the end of the service.
